Site Visit to the Planetary Health Precinct
9 March, 2023
On 9 March, 30 students and lecturers from the University of Wollongong’s Sustainable Buildings Research Centre,  visited the Precinct with a view to developing integrated net zero designs that reduce disaster risk for the buildings on the site. The cohort is a mix of 3rd year Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and 3rd and 4th year Bachelor and Masters of Mechanical Engineering students. Over the term the buildings on the Precinct became a case study for their Integrated Design Studio Course and their designs were shared with Council to help guide ongoing decision making as the site develops.     This program has been made possible as part of a Bioregional Collaboration for Planetary Health and is supported by the Disaster Risk Reduction Fund (DRRF). The DRRF is jointly funded by the Australian and New South Wales governments.
