Planetary Health Writer / Storyteller

Writer / Storyteller (18 months temporary; 14 hours per week) – V22/5777

Position Description Writer / Storytellers will work with Council’s Planetary Health Team, researchers and their local community to produce innovative and compelling stories to engage young people and the wider community in disaster risk reduction strategies to restore planetary health. They will be located in one of the following communities and work with all sectors in that community to develop planetary health communication platforms: • Lithgow • Medlow Bath to Mount Tomah (including Megalong) • Katoomba/Leura • Wentworth Falls to Faulconbridge • Springwood/Winmalee • Warrimoo to Lapstone (including Mt Riverview) They will research and share stories from every sector to showcase inspiring examples of solutions for planetary health. You will require an understanding of planetary health challenges and experience in being able to communicate this creatively and innovatively in a way that can engage a broad cross-section of the community, and particularly young people. Photographic and editing skills, and an ability to produce quality digital and social media. Salary:  commencing at $79,919.32 (pro-rata) gross per annum.
