Introduction to Permaculture

10am – 3pm Sunday 13 October

Blackheath Community Farm, 60 Thirroul Ave Blackheath

This is a free workshop for young people aged 16 – 30

If you’ve always wanted to know what Permaculture is about, this introduction will give you a concise overview in an enjoyable outdoor classroom.

The Permaculture approach shows you how to look at the world’s problems and design solutions! It does this with a set of ethics, principles and whole-system design strategies inspired by the natural world. By observing and understanding nature you can learn how to accelerate regeneration, and create resilient social and environmental systems.
On the day there will be a communal lunch so bring some food to share.

If this workshop sounds interesting to you, you might also like to check out our Permaculture and Social Enterprise Design Course starting in October and followed by an optional 6 months of mentoring in the skills needed to help you start a social enterprise.

Your teacher will be Lis Bastian, founder of The Big Fix and co-founder of the Blue Mountains Permaculture Institute.
