Learn how to recognise the common and disabling mental health problems in young people, where and how to get help when a young person is developing a mental illness, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in crisis situations. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
We’re able to offer this workshop to young people for free thanks to the support of Jane Armstrong from Mental Health First Aid Australia, Blue Mountains City Council’s Planetary Health Initiative and funding from Wentworth Healthcare, provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network, as part of the Australian Government’s Empowering our Communities initiative.
