SUMMARY:Building Community Connection and Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inclusive\, connected and fun community gathering hosted by Permaculture Matters — a space to build meaningful relationships\, explore practical tools for communication\, and strengthen personal and collective resilience. \nEach month\, our facilitators will guide us through experiential activities\, listening practices\, and reflective processes that help us grow deeper connection with ourselves and others\, to navigate life with more ease. These sessions draw on the ethics and principles at the heart of Permaculture Matters — applied beyond the garden and into our everyday relationships\, communities and inner landscapes. \nWhat to expect\nAcross these two-hour gatherings\, we’ll explore: \n\nCreating and strengthening local relationships in a supportive\, welcoming environment\nPractical tools for listening\, communication\, emotional processing and collaboration\nHow permaculture ethics and principles can support us as people — not just gardeners\nBuilding personal and community resilience\, including conflict navigation and shared learning\nSimple embodied practices that help us feel grounded\, connected and resourced\n\nThe sessions are experiential\, warm\, and community-focused — a place to show up as you are\, learn together\, and build confidence in your own capacity to connect and contribute. \nFacilitators\nSarah Daniel and Jen Hall will be the lead facilitators for the group. They will be assisted by others from the Permaculture Matters team\, including Sarah Corbett\, Sarah Messina and Sonya Forrest. We will also have guest facilitators join us for specific topics. Facilitators will be from the Permaculture Matters team\, which you can view here. \nWho it’s for \nAnyone seeking deeper connection\, emotional grounding\, community belonging\, and practical tools for navigating relationships and collaboration — regardless of experience or background. These gatherings naturally complement our broader Permaculture Matters programs\, including the Permaculture Design Course PDC. Got questions? You can reach us at hello@permaculturematters.com.au \nPricing\n$10 ($5 concession) \n\nAll proceeds help fund Permaculture Design Course scholarships and a contribution towards the inner space. Your contribution directly strengthens community learning and accessibility. \nPractical Bits\n\nVenue: the inner space\, Katoomba\nTime: 7 pm–9 pm\nFrequency: Monthly (second Thursday of each month)\nChildren & teens: These gatherings are for everyone over the age of 18.
